Our goal at Outdoor Research is to design and manufacture innovative products for outdoor recreation and travel that are of the highest quality, reasonably priced, truly functional, and as versatile as possible.
Our manufacturing facilities and offices are located in Seattle, Washington, giving our employees easy access to one of the most varied natural playgrounds in the world. Within a few hours' drive of OR, there are huge volcanoes to climb, saltwater islands to paddle among, whitewater rivers to play on and fish in, desert country to rock climb and mountain bike across, and a true temperate rainforest to backpack through; not to mention one of the longest ski seasons in North America.
 On any given weekend (and sometimes during the week) OR employees can be found enjoying these wild places and testing the products they have a hand in producing. This is a very important part of the testing process; personal hands-on, employee use of our gear.
We also make sure that our products are tested by the world’s hardest working outdoor enthusiasts, and the feedback we receive from them is invaluable. It is not uncommon for these people to be out in the elements more than 200 days a year doing what they do, and this allows us to tap into a valuable source of accelerated wear and tear.
