Sherpa to Attempt One-day Lhotse and Everest Climb

TUESDAY, 27 MARCH 2007

Pemba Dorje Sherpa is preparing to set two new world records: a one-day climb to Lhoste and Everest and a 24-hour stay on top without supplementary oxygen.

Dorje is the present record-holder for the fastest climb on Mount Everest. He climbed the highest mountain in the world in eight hours and ten minutes from the south side in 2004. This time around, he plans to make two new records.

He is planning to surpass his previous record and he wants to accomplish the record of Baby Chirri Sherpa who stayed for 24 hours without supplementary oxygen on top of Everest.
