Mountaineering Club Organizes Ice Climbing Fest

The 2007 Mountaineering Club of Alaska Ice Climbing Festival will draw ice climbers, mountaineers, and other outdoor enthusiasts to Matanuska Glacier this September 29-30.
The event is open to the all climbing enthusiasts at any ability level. “The main purpose of the event is to introduce outdoor enthusiasts to modern ice climbing techniques,” said Jayme Dixon, a member of MCA. However, attendees are required to become members of the club.
Club memberships costs $15, while the event costs $50 per person. Attendees should also go to an informative meeting scheduled tomorrow, September 26, at the First Methodist Church in Anchorage.
