Anthamatten, Lavarda Dominate the Ice Climbing Cup

Simon Anthamatten and Jenny Lavarda took home the overall 2008 titles of the Ice Climbing World Cup. Its third and final stage took place in Saas Fee, Switzerland last weekend.
Angelika Rainer of Italy and Simon Anthamatten of Switzerland reigned supreme in the last two stages of the cup. This is Rainer’s first ever World Cup stage. Rainer’s teammate Jenny Lavarda got the second place. This is her second World Cup title in a row.
Meanwhile, the men’s division was dominated by Simon Anthamatten who was followed by Evgeny Kryvosheytsev, the third overall winner.
The Russians Maxim and Alexey Tomilov placed fourth and fifth, respectively.
