Ice Climbers Establish New Routes in Wyoming
FRIDAY, 18 APRIL 2008
A team of ice climbers developed several ice routes at the Ishawooa Creek drainage, South Fork of the Shoshone in Wyoming.
Aaron Mulkey with Joel Anderson, Kenny Gasch, Dan Miller, and Sam Magro, established six new routes in addition to the previously unnamed paths: a WI4, 60m, and Milque Toast WI4+, 80m. The new routes were named Liberator, Peaceful Warrior, Ella Diablo, The Testament, The Wolf, and Unnamed.
The South Fork Valley has some of the highest concentrations of ice in the Lower 48, which has little snow but with long ice routes.
The Ishawooa drainage is hidden deep in the valleys of northwestern Wyoming.
